1 Little Ags

I know it really hurt Nonny to buy these A&M outfits (seeing as she's a Longhorn), but we sure do love them. Thanks Nonny! We'll take maroon any time (not a chance for burnt orange)!

2 Exersaucing

Georgia has been playing in Leighton's old exersaucer this past week. It's nice to have some things for her to do where she's not flat on her back looking up at the ceiling.
Leighton loves to love on Georgia...and I don't have the heart to tell her Georgia might not like when she does this:

1 San Antonio

I took the girls to San Antonio for Father's Day. Before you call me a jerk for leaving Chad, let me explain. Chad was supposed to go fishing with the boys for the weekend. We were going to ride to SA together, and then he was going to ride from there to the coast. He ended up not going fishing, but I had already planned on going to SA. So we went ahead and Chad stayed here. And I believe he had QUITE a lovely weekend all by himself. Lots of free time and sleeping. So I think it was the best Father's Day gift he could ever get.

I got to see my family, which is always fun. Both the uncles came by the house and played with us. Uncle Matt, as always, goes all the way for a laugh.
Poor Brad. I guess we wore him out and he had to snooze on the dog bed. I don't think Travis minded sharing one bit.
For OUR dad, we all cooked over at my parents' house. Ok, they all cooked and I was in charge of the well being of our two girls. It's a full-time job! Matt and Brad did it up right and we had a delicious steak dinner and all kinds of yummy sides. I know my dad enjoyed having ALL of us together, because it really doesn't happen too often.

I started giving Georgia rice cereal last week. Here's a picture of me giving her some. I think she actually likes it!
In the past, it might have been funny to say my dad was training Leighton to be a future Tiger Woods. Now we'll have to go with Tom Kite or Phil Mickelson. Either way, she played some golf!
We have a pool table at our house, and when we were little, we used to put a big comforter on top of it to make a tepee. I walked in and found my dad and Leighton doing the same thing. She loved it!This isn't a very good picture of the whole scene...sorry!
My parents have a whole area of their backyard now for Leighton to play with. She loves it. Here's her sand box. When I went out there, she had me transfer sand from one side to the other. A fun little project!
I got some cute pictures of my dad and Georgia:

Now this I just think is funny. Poor Travis doesn't get as much attention from my dad when we visit. Can you tell how sad he is?
We got back to Houston late Sunday afternoon. Chad got to sleep in late, so I felt good about his day. We celebrated him that evening.

I didn't get any pictures of our trip to the Witte Museum in San Antonio, but they had a dinosaur exhibit we thought Leighton would like. Of course, the first dinosaur she saw when we walked in scared her, so we walked everywhere else BUT the dinosaur area. Then, we finally decided to bite the bullet and check out the dinosaurs. I think she didn't mind them. But if you ask her about it she will tell you she was scared. (But she really wasn't! I promise! I'm not an evil mother who purposely scares her kids!) Her favorite part of the whole thing was this little area they had where you could pretend to be digging for fossils. It looked like a sandbox but had pieces of cut up rubber to look like sand (no mess...I like!) and paintbrushes to "unearth" the footprints. There were two little jerks who fancied themselves real archaeologists and said something to Leighton about not making a mess. I wanted to punch their lights out! Come on! I can tell I'm going to be one of those crazy moms on the playground: You mess with my kid, you are gonna get it!

Overall, we had a great weekend. And now I know exactly what I'm going to ask for for Mother's Day: Chad, pack your bags! I like this whole "weekend to yourself" gift!

1 5 months old!

Wow. 5 months old today! I know I say it every month...but I can't believe it! Time is just flying by. Georgia is such a happy little girl. Chad calls her Smiley because she just grins from ear to ear when she sees one of us. I sent myself reminders on my phone so I wouldn't forget that we needed to take our pictures. And I STILL almost forgot! My mind is mush these days. Thankfully, I remembered!
Um, how adorable are these matching dresses? And the baby doll with the dress too? Loves it! I love the look on Georgia's face...like "What? Another baby??"

Yeah, see that dress in Georgia's mouth? Whew. She really seems to be teething up a storm. Quite a bit fussy lately and just gnawing on her fingers like they are going out of style. Have I mentioned she dropped her pacifier about a month ago? She seems to like human fingers much better.
Georgia can sort of sit (or be propped) up now. Leighton decided to read her a book while they sat. What a sweet big sis!

I love her little legs! I kiss her feet and belly and face all day long. Love those baby body parts. She giggles when I eat on her toes.
So she's been SO close to rolling over lately. This is what she's been doing...

I left the room and came back and to find Georgia ON HER STOMACH! She had rolled over while I was gone! I yelled her name with excitement and startled her, and she rolled again onto her back. You can see she's clear across the blanket by this time. Woo hoo! So Georgia LITERALLY rolled over at 5 months. Straight up. Go G! (Love this picture...looks like she's shocked herself!)

I've been giving her a little rice cereal here and there. Leighton was such a not interested eater, that I wasn't really looking forward to doing the food with G. But I should not impose these expectations on her! She is NOT Leighton. In fact, she opens her mouth wide and grabs the spoon from me and jams it in her mouth. So this could get really exciting, this feeding thing. Sadly, the full belly isn't translating into sleeping all the way through the night. She is still waking up. Sometimes twice a night. Waddup with that?! We were so spoiled with Leighton. Georgia's gonna make us work for it this time around.

I'm starting to see how things are going to work when Leighton starts school in August...as far as getting sick goes. Leighton had a cold, and of course now Georgia has it too. I took her to the doctor last week and she had a tiny fever and beginnings of an ear infection. (Also, she weighed 12 pounds...woo hoo!) So now she's on antibiotics and on the mend. On the flip side of that, Leighton is now able to BLOW HER NOSE!! That's the tough thing with babies: getting those boogies outta the nose for them. But with this cold, Leighton is able to blow into the Kleenex. It's AWESOME.

I know I haven't posted all week. Seriously, having two kids is kicking me in the rear. I am going going going all day and I barely have time to bathe. But I'm committed to keeping this blog up. I'm extremely grateful to have such a detailed record of Leighton's life, and I want to do the same for Georgia.

7 New design and iPhone pictures

Have you noticed anything NEW? My fabulous new blog design! I love it! Carolyn did this for me and it's perfect for us. Love the chicks! Chad's one request was that his chick be blue--I wonder if he's feeling crowded out by all this pink around here?

I finally moved all the pictures from my iPhone to my computer. Wow...I just got it at Christmas, and since then I've taken over 400 pictures. Some of them are great...so I thought I'd put them on here and share. Sort of a potpourri of pictures. We'll have to do without descriptions for now, but most of them are pretty self-explanatory. (Grandparents, you are welcome. I have a feeling you will be the ones who enjoy all these pictures the most!)
