4 Christmas card pictures

The day before Halloween, we had some professional pictures taken with our photographer from last year, Jennifer. She did a great job, and both girls were happy and ready to smile. We were very pleased with our pictures...they capture the girls' personalities perfectly!

1 Santa Claus 2011

Santa Claus has been visiting Bering's on the weekends this month and I've been nervous about taking the girls to see him...mainly because there has been lots of crying on every visit to Santa we have ever had. So I just threw it out there "Hey, let's go see Santa!" And Leighton popped right up and took off for her room, undressing as she ran. She was ALL OVER IT! She was even happy to let me pick out her dress (but not her tights, which did not match!). Georgia was equally excited. When we arrived at Bering's and got in line, Georgia kept running to where she could see Santa and she would point at him. Santa!!
Leighton very patiently waited in line to see Santa, while Georgia ran all over the store sitting in all the rocking chairs and every now and then yelling at Santa to watch her. Finally, it was our turn. Leighton turned bright pink as she told Santa what she wanted for Christmas.

And Georgia turned bright pink as she realized Daddy wasn't holding her anymore. Adorable tights on Georgia, right? And yes, I understand Leighton's purple tights don't go with her dress. What are you gonna do?!

Georgia was pretty sad until Santa asked her what she wanted for Christmas. Leighton helped her answer "baby!"

And then Georgia totally perked up when she saw her Daddy walking up to get her from Santa. Whew! I was just so thrilled Leighton wasn't afraid of Santa this year! What a success!

0 Happy birthday, Muncle Matt!

People often ask if Matt is a good uncle (not that he wouldn't be, but just in casual conversation). Matt is an incredible uncle. Besides being such a large part of the girls' lives, he is fun, funny, engaging, patient, silly, honest, thoughtful, curious, and ready to play. The girls love him to bits, and so do I! I only hope everyone has a brother (and yes, Brad is too, so brothers) as lovely as mine. They are my best friends, and I'm terribly proud them both. It's Matt's birthday today. We just want to say we love you and hope you have had a day that is as special as you are!
