1 On da Naughty List?

Georgia is SO stinkin' cute! The past few days, if she has done something that would not be considered kind or good behavior, she asks me with a very concerned expression "Am I gonna be on da naughty list?"
Just the idea of being on the naughty list whips her right into shape. Of course, Leighton eggs her on, saying "Georgia you won't get any toys at all!" It's pretty funny.
On a completely different subject, I just have to take note of my injury-ridden day yesterday.

  • Injury 1: I was standing next to Leighton's bed and had just changed Georgia's diaper on it. She stood up and then jumped, hitting my chin and causing my tooth to cut through the inside of my upper lip. Blood came pouring out and I ran off crying...because IT HURT and I thought I had bit my lip off. Thankfully, I am fine, just a big, swollen, sore boo boo in my mouth!
  • Injury 2: Chad has this cylinder Styrofoam thing he got in physical therapy for his arm. Georgia wanted me to hold her hands while she stood on it and rolled. I thought I would give it a try, so I stepped up on it like it was a balance beam, it rolled, and I fell SMACK DAB on my left behind cheek. Again, burst into tears and Georgia ran to get her Daddy. Chad was like "log rolling, really?" I told him I was just trying to keep up with Georgia! Ha. That's what happens to me when I try to be daring and adventurous!
  • Injury 3: As if the first two weren't enough...I was pretending to be the monster while Chad and Georgia hid under Leighton's covers in her bed. Georgia popped up and I fell over, whacking my leg on the bed frame...BIG OUCH and once again, down for the count crying.
  • Injury 4: I was about to change Georgia's diaper and she was standing right in front of me. I bent over to pick her up and she jumped up, hitting my chin AGAIN and instead of biting into my lip, my jaw twisted funny and I had a sharp pain over by my ear. (Still sore!)
By injury 4, I told Chad I was going to bed to stop myself from any further damages. I actually walked in and caught him laughing so hard he was tearing up. It is comical...yesterday was definitely not my lucky day!

0 Gingerbread men

We are continuing to go full-throttle Christmasing around here. We decorated gingerbread men with all of our leftover candy from our gingerbread houses. Leighton was so great with helping Georgia put the icing on her cookie. Of course, Georgia just put the icing tube directly into her mouth several times!

It has been so fun watching Leighton's sense of art develop over the past year or so. The cookie on the left is Georgia's and the one on the right is Leighton's. Her teachers tell me she is very specific and purposeful when they do crafts at school. Love it!
We are truly enjoying every moment of the Christmas season. When we are in the car, we only listen to Christmas music, and we sing at the top of our lungs. We have driven around and looked at Christmas lights, we have recorded every Christmas movie that we can and watched them...repeatedly. Currently on our DVR:
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Shrek the Halls
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Frosty the Snowman
Santa Claus is Comin' to Town
Peter Rabbit's Christmas Tale
The Elf of the Shelf
The Year Without a Santa Claus
The Smurfs Christmas Carol
'Twas the Night Before Christmas

I think I can say I have been successful at making sure the girls know Christmas is a special time of year!

0 Little helper

Since Angela has been gone, Georgia and I have spent a lot of quality time together. Although it's hard, I've started having her "help" me with tasks around the house. Her current favorite is doing dishes. Now when I say "doing dishes," I mean I clean the dishes and put them in the dishwasher and she plays in the water for half an hour. She loves it and tells me she's really good at doing dishes. We actually did tag team last week and cleaned out the whole refrigerator!

0 Ballet performance

This past Monday, we got to go watch Leighton's ballet performance...she has a big recital in May with costumes and all that, but this was just a chance for us to watch what they've learned so far in class. It was SO CUTE. Leighton really has learned quite a bit...her teacher even has the class learning French! They all answer "Ici," which means "here," when she calls roll. Impressive! The girls started out showing off their ballet skills.

Then they switched into their tap shoes. Georgia brought Leighton a bouquet of pink roses. So sweet!

We were pretty impressed with all Leighton has learned! And she's having fun with all of her friends from school, which is the most important part.

0 Fun at Nonny's

We had so much fun over the weekend at Nonny's house. We could not get enough of Katherine! Leighton wanted to hold her every chance she could. Once again, I sort of tried not to hold her because I had a cough  (after going to the doctor Tuesday it turns out I have bronchitis and a sinus infection still that never got better after Thanksgiving). So I personally have not had my fill of sweet Katherine!
I'm so curious what happened during this photo that made both Leighton and Georgia frown but Katherine smile so big!
Katherine was WAY interested in Leighton's sippy cup. She was staring at it, trying to reach it with her hands.

We are passing on all our girl clothes to Katherine, and it's been bittersweet to see them on her. They look adorable, I'm so happy they are getting some more use, but it makes me miss my teeny little babies!
I missed most of this but Fara got some great pictures of Pete and Leighton having a major volleyball tournament! They both think Leighton has a future in the sport. I told them we play balloon volleyball a lot at the house and we smack down those balloons like nobody's business!

Another one of our little outfits...one of my favorites ever. Katherine looks SO beautiful and sweet in it. You gotta love little baby girls in tutus!
On Saturday, we all headed to Chad and Fara's church to meet with the minister who performed the baptism. The girls loved the nativity scene outside the church. They got on the cows and said hi to Mary and Joseph.

The three wise men, and the two Ferguson girls!
Poor Katherine...she did pretty great being passed around all weekend. Leighton did her best to rotate herself in the baby-holding as often as she could.
We were so excited Leighton (Chad's cousin) and Lynette drove in for the baptism. How sweet! They've been living in Washington D.C. for the past couple of years and just moved back to the Fort Worth area, so we look forward to seeing them much more often. They are both just amazing with kids and our girls had so much fun with them.

Georgia and Nonny played a few songs on the piano and sang...Georgia absolutely loved it. We sing and dance and are pretty musical around our house, and the girls love that Nonny can play so many songs on the piano and sing anything they think of!

I also was not involved in this activity...but the girls made cupcakes with Nonny Saturday evening. Give Georgia batter of any kind, and she's a happy little girl. I'm pretty sure she's inherited my love of SUGAR! (Mom and Dad if you are reading this, rest assured we brush her teeth thoroughly every night!)
