0 Georgia potty update

The pictures say it all: Georgia is an advanced potty user now! I can't believe it. We put about ZERO effort into this! She even went poop in the potty on Friday. She wanted to wear panties to sleep last night but I told her she had to wear a pull-up and we would check if she had tinkled in it overnight. She hadn't...so tonight, she will be wearing panties!

Georgia has NO fear of public restrooms, and it seems like she actually WANTS to go in every potty she can find. Sometimes she will sit on the potty and nothing comes out and she asks "Mommy, are you still proud of me?" It melts my heart. I say "Of COURSE I am proud of you!" Another funny thing (and shocking for only being her first week on the toilet), she often wants to go alone, telling me she "wants privacy." How hilarious is that? She closes the door, and I peek to make sure she wipes, which she does. I still cannot believe how much of a non-challenge potty training was this time around. I would say that she was definitely ready!

0 Sisterly love

1 Georgia's in panties!

Wow I just saw that it's been WAY too long since I've made a post. I guess I am finally understanding people with kids who always cried "I'm SOOOO busy!" Well, it's true!

I haven't taken many pictures with my big camera, but I have tons on my iPhone that I need to upload. In the meantime, we've had a MAJOR development here for Georgia! We haven't really put much focus on potty training (maybe I'm still traumatized from what happened with Leighton). We've just tried to let her lead the way, and she's gone potty many times, but nothing consistent. But yesterday, something just snapped. She pottied on the potty a few times, and I asked her if she wanted to wear panties to school today instead of pull-ups. She did! And she stuck with it!

This morning, she wore panties to school and when I picked her up, she had had no accidents and had gone several times on the potty! Wow! Plus, we then went on to gymnastics and she wore panties there too. (And she went to the bathroom there...so far, looks like she's not afraid of public restrooms!)

I told her we were going to go out to dinner for a "Panty Party" and let her choose where we went...she chose Mia's. She wore her panties proudly there, and she visited the bathroom about 6 times.

I'm just shocked and can't believe that we are basically potty training without even intending to. I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out. Wow!

0 Oscar fun

I have always loved watching the Academy Awards on television. Erin and I used to have Oscar parties, where we got dressed up all fancy and cooked movie-themed entrees. It was a blast! Since having children, I haven't really had my Oscar-night party. But I think it's going to start happening again. At least with my girls! This year, they had me dress up fancy, and they had sparkling grape juice. Leighton loves looking at all the pretty dresses on the red carpet. I think we've got a new tradition in the Ferguson household. Except next year, the girls will be dressing up fancy too!
