Sunday afternoon was the big St. Francis Festival, an outdoor afternoon of games, food, and fun. I have to say, it is still so fun to see the girls experience things for the first time. We parked off campus and took a shuttle bus to the school, and both girls were so thrilled with being on a bus. I love watching their excitement. And, of course, this was their first festival at the school. Georgia made herself right at home and took off her shoes.
Leighton got this new outfit to wear to the festival, and she looks like such a BIG GIRL in it. With the sunglasses on top of her head...is she 6 or 16?
Georgia set her sights on this fun activity...I call it the hamster ball, but I'm sure it had another name. Leighton took one look at it and said "I would NEVER do that." Georgia, she DID that!
The festival was total madness, with kids running around all over the place, music, and lots of cascarones being tossed around.
We helped sponsor the Cascarones booth, along with a ton of other parents.
Cotton candy? Yes, please. And it matched Georgia's outfit too. A double winner!
Leighton found Ava and Reese, and they watched Skylar do the dunking booth.
This is what happened when I tried to take a picture of my two girls together.
Georgia was super proud of her arm painting of a unicorn.
I told Georgia to go crack an egg on her Daddy, so she ran over and slammed it right into his behind! Nicely done!
I tried to get Leighton to stand next to this guy, but guess what? She wouldn't do it. Needless to say, there was quite a difference in height.
One of the coolest parts of the festival was when the principal of the school flew overhead in a helicopter. She then dropped hundreds of golf balls onto a field (parents could buy golf balls, and they each had their names on them...prizes for golf balls that reached certain targets). It was pretty crazy having the helicopter RIGHT above us all. Thankful it flew right on over us.
All the kids ran to watch the golf balls, but Georgia quickly returned to her favorite thing at the festival.
And here's a lesson: never say NEVER! Scaredy-cat Leighton changed her mind and took a turn in the hamster ball...and loved it!

I worked at one of the booths toward the end of the festival, and Leighton was so excited to stand next to me and collect tickets. (We were working at the General Store, that had fun toys and candy to buy.) When we were walking back to the shuttle, Georgia had a box of cascarones and was just cracking one after the other on top of her head. It was hilarious. I made her stop so I could get a picture of her doing the last one.

I think they were thoroughly worn out by the time we got on the bus. However, they still both had such a blast riding on the actual bus to the car.
We had so much fun! And the weather was perfect...it was hot earlier in the day, but it got cloudy and windy by the time we got to the school, so it was perfect and not too hot (which I know the girls could care less about, but it made it much nicer for us parents).
