0 Georgia's Ballet Recital

Georgia had her ballet recital at the beginning of May, the day before Mother's Day. As always, we were allowed to take pictures at the rehearsal (they discourage it at the actual recital because they don't want it to distract the ballerinas). So...Georgia's ballet costume was perfectly pink, and she loved twirling around in the tutu.

She loved taking ballet with Bridget again this year.

During rehearsals and at the recital, Georgia had the BEST smile on her face the whole time. She really does seem to love performing. And she's a really graceful little dancer.

She had a problem with her shoe during the tap dance, so she wasn't quite as happy and smiley for that, but she still had a lot of fun.

We had just a couple of hours after the rehearsal before we had to be back for the recital (makes for a very busy day, trying to get her fed lunch and dinner and get some rest time). Anyway, during that break, Grandpa took her to get her hair put in a professional ballerina bun (just like last year). Grandpa and Granna came in for the recital and they were thankful because they were out of town for it last year. Nonny was in Portugal, so we are glad we have a DVD of the recital so we can show her.

Look at this sweet little Georgia!

One of Georgia's best friends at school, Louise Caroline, was also there for the recital. Unfortunately, her ballet class was on a different day than Georgia's, so they enjoyed being able to play before the recital.

Here's our Navy Seal friends: Ainsley, Louise Caroline, Georgia, Paulina, Samantha, and Cordelia.

For the record, we did not ask these girls to pose this way. They just did it on their own.
I was glad Granna was here for Mother's Day, although we were unable to repeat our weekend away at a hotel due to Georgia's recital. But it was lovely to be together anyway.

After the recital, we headed to Molina's with several other ballerina families from our neighborhood. The kids all ran around on the patio while we had a few margaritas and enjoyed the night.

For Mother's Day, Granna, Leighton and I went to get a pedicure and then we all went to lunch. I think we were all pretty tired from the recital. I caught Grandpa and Georgia in this sweet moment on Mother's Day. I don't know what they were working on, but it sure looked sweet.
